Weekly Stock Market Overview - Jul 21, 2013

All the major US indices were negative. For the week the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped -270.78 points or -1.80%. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index dropped -34.30 points or -2.11%, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped -66.31 points or -1.94%. Read More ...

The Energy Select Sector SPDR sector was the strongest sector (-2.18%) last week followed by the Financial Select Sector SPDR sector (-2.23%). The Utilities Select Sector SPDR sector was the worst performing sector (-3.84%) of the week followed by the Materials Select Sector SPDR sector (-3.16%).

The Industrial Goods sector is the most overvalued sector followed by Technology, while Processing Systems/Prods, Semiconductr-Memory Chips, and Aerospace/Defense-Maj Dvd are among the most overvalued industries. The Utilities sector is the most oversold sector followed by Basic Materials, while Oil & Gas Pipelines, Gold, and Industrial Metals/Mineral are among the most oversold industries.
