Weekly Stock Market Overview - March 23, 2012

It was a mixed week for the major markets. For the week the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped -151.89 points or -1.15%. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index dropped -7.06 points or -0.50%, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 12.66 points or 0.41%. Read More ...

The Consumer Discretionary sector was the strongest sector (0.68%) last week followed by the Consumer Staples sector (0.48%). The Energy sector was the worst performing sector (-3.40%) of the week followed by the Industrial sector (-2.16%).

The Services sector is the most overvalued sector followed by Financial, while Specialty Eateries, Home Improvement Stores, and Wholesale Other are among the most overvalued industries. The Basic Materials sector is the most oversold sector followed by Consumer Goods, while Rubber & Plastics, Gold, and Industrial Metals/Mineral are among the most oversold industries.
